  • Vietnam Energy Efficiency Building Week 2018

    On 25th August 2018 in Hanoi, the Opening workshop of Vietnam Energy Efficiency Building Week 2018 (VEEBW2018) is held by Vietnam Energy Efficiency Network (EEN-Vietnam) and Goethe Institute Hanoi. The goal is to promote Sustainable Energy Use in Vietnam’s building environment through the phases Design – Building – Operation- End of life cycle.

  • BEX and MCE Asia 2018 to Empower a Digital-first Future for the Building and Construction Industry

    Build Eco Xpo (BEX) Asia, Southeast Asia’s leading trade exhibition for the region’s green building market, and Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) Asia, a regional HVAC-R, water and energy exhibition is set to return in September. As ASEAN ministers convene for a Special Ministerial Meeting on Climate Change on 10 July, BEX and MCE Asia will highlight the industry’s latest efforts and developments that will help advance climate change action for the region. 

    Held as part of the Singapore Green Building Week (SGBW), BEX Asia, together with co-located events MCE Asia as well as the annual International Green Building Conference (IGBC), is set to welcome over 12,000 professionals, thought leaders and policy makers from across the built industry.

  • 2018 Ashui Awards launched to honour best Vietnamese architects and buildings

    The annual 2018 Ashui Awards was launched in Hanoi on July 7, under the sponsor of the Vietnam Urban Planning and Development Association (VUPDA). 

    The awards feature nine categories to honour the best Architect, Building, Contractor, Developer, Engineering, Future Project, Green Build, Housing and Interior of the Year. 

    The nominations for the awards began on July 7 and will last until October 31 this year. They will be judged by a council of prestigious architects and experts, who will select the official nominees through a voting process. 

    The final results will be based on public selection through the awards' official website at http://ashui.com/awards/ and the council's judgment. 

    Since it was first launched in 2012, the awards have been dubbed as Vietnam’s Oscars Awards in the field of architecture and construction. 

    It aims to honour architects, who have designed or built outstanding structures, as well as the contributions of Vietnamese architecture to the country, while helping to facilitate the sustainable development of the construction sector.

  • Dodge Momentum Index Moves Lower in December
    The Dodge Momentum Index fell 4.9% in December to 151.9 (2000=100) from the revised November reading of 159.7.
  • New Construction Starts in December Decline 10 Percent; Annual Total for 2018 Edges Up 0.3 Percent to $789.0 Billion
    New construction starts in December fell 10% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $708.9 billion, continuing to retreat after November's 7% slide, according to Dodge Data & Analytics.
  • Dodge Momentum Index Increases in November
    The Dodge Momentum Index moved 5.3% higher in November to 159.7 (2000=100) from the revised October reading of 151.7.
  • New Construction Starts in November Slip 7 Percent
    At a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $789.3 billion, new construction starts in November decreased 7% from October's elevated amount, according to Dodge Data & Analytics.
  • October Construction Starts Soar 21 Percent
    New construction starts in October climbed 21% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $864.0 billion, according to Dodge Data & Analytics.
